#16 Networking, volunteering, Workshop prep and marketing

Weeknotes — Monday 3 November—Sunday 9 November 2025

Summary of the week

A mixed week of context switching between client calls, prep for workshops, working on my own marketing, and a lot of networking events.

Dot and Dash

A sizeable chunk of this week went into building the workbook for the Emerging Leaders programme. Workbook design is something I take seriously: the layout, the flow, the way it guides someone through their thinking with reflection points.

Then I moved into sorting out Lego soup, sorted workshop packs. Any Lego®Serious Play ® facilitator will tell you that there is one downside of a session: the cleaning, sanitising and resorting of the kit after a workshop.

Another part of the work going on at the moment is the work I have with working out our marketing strategy. Honestly, I have not had time to figure this out or knuckle down on this. I think I will need to pick this up after April, once I have some free time after the conference. Client work comes first! The website needs updating, and it's the one thing that gets pushed down the priority list.

Community and networking

Had a great meet-up with Facilitate Sheffield this week, catching up with each other and having a natter about our work, the community of practice we have going all over a lovely lunch at Hygge. I caught up with Sandrine from the group and she had some visual graphic recording books she gifted to me, honestly I was so amazed at the generosity of our community. The books turned out to be ones I had on my wishlist for years. So grateful for the community spirit we have.

App Development

Had more body doubling sessions for Neurodivergent Entrepreneurs, love running them and I enjoy them as I get to do a lot of focused work. Back-end work is going on with the user identification, and this is taking a lot longer that we hoped for. Still, this gives me time to get ahead with the research work that needs to be done.

Time for creativity

Lost in a world of Dungeons and Dragons for a long evening with friends. We have been on this campaign for about 3 years now, and we were all strangers who met at the Treehouse Board Game Cafe over a series of D&D games for beginners. Funny how things pan out. Truly love the problem-solving and playing a unique character to my actual real self so much fun with these guys!.

Plus, a bonus this week, I get to see a ballet performance, which was incredible given I can barely stand on point without a barre; leaping about and doing pirouettes still baffles me! So thank you, Jane, for the ace weekend of culture!

I wonder... What does productivity actually look like to people who own multiple businesses and interests?
