#22 Posters, Lovebrain and Winding Down for Christmas
Weeknotes — Monday 15 December – Sunday 21 December 2025
The last full working week before Christmas. Poster work, attending Lovebrain university, a new LSP connection and marketing. The year was wrapping up nicely.
Dot and Dash
Client work is moving along with two lots of illustration work for different clients. I am loving the process of moving from a text brief into something more visual, seeing the iterations over the days, having a visual history of the things you add, modify and delete. I love this kind of project a clear brief, a visual output, something tangible at the end of it. Something that you don't always get with work I do as the projects don't always have tangible outcomes until months or even years later.
Making time for marketing this week too. Not always the most exciting thing to carve out time for but it matters and I am trying to be more intentional about it. Warm reach outs to people who have expressed interest in the work I do.
Lego®️ Serious Play ®️
Intro chat with Afsha about LSP. Always enjoy those early conversations where someone is discovering the methodology and new approaches for it. We got talking about cultural differences in faciliation and how this translates into Lego®️ Serious Play ®️ and I have been sent over a book that she recommended. Will be doing a book review on it, and then we are going to meet up and discuss our thoughts. I'll probably end up with a bunch of ideas for workshops I would love to run based on some of the ideas on it to explore it further.
Lovebrain
Lovebrain University this week. This programme continues to shape how I think about myself and my relationships. Really glad I committed to it even though it's several hours in the evening. I didn't stay on until the early hours as I had to be up early for the community session I was running the next day. Need to balance my energy which I am not that great at.
Creativity
Had a wonder around Sheffield and there was an exhibition on, where all the buildings around Sheffield was lit up with a light show, my favourite was the mural by Peachzz. The image came to life through animation and sound tracks about the planet and the ecosystem. It was cold and icy winds but it was incredible being immersed in beautiful art and sound tracks. More about her work here.
App Development
More body doubling sessions this week. One area in the week where I am gaining some consistency, and it's useful as I carve out the things I want to do in this time, it allows me to hyper-focus, and not overdo it. These sessions are one of the most important things I run for the community.
I wonder why we call it winding down when it's actually the moment things come into focus. I've travelled to beaches, [walked suspended above the jungle canopy], spent long days moving between places, stared out of train windows. Those aren't distractions from clarity. For me, this is where clarity actually arrives.
The noise of everyday life buries so much. Being somewhere else unearths it.
I wonder if it's time for an adventure.
If this resonated, pass it on to someone who might enjoy it. Subscribing is free and you can hop in and out whenever suits you.
