#24 New Year, Workshop Sprints and Manufacturing

Weeknotes — Monday 29 December 2025 – Sunday 4 January 2026

Diving into the first week of the new year, a workshop to deliver. January which always seems the longest month in the year has landed with a boom.

Dot and Dash

I'm running an AI design sprint workshop for service designers - which was supposed to be Oct but has been pulled forward to Feb so I'm working on gathering up all the materials as this is going to be a bigger group. I love the constraint of a sprint format; it forces proper aligned decisions quickly.

The innovation in action manufacturing workshop final prep is nearly there. A different sector to work in as a facilitator, and I always find it interesting to bring facilitation methods into spaces that are not used to them. Strangely given most of my previous career has been in manufacturing.

New Year's Eve

Lee and I saw in the new year at the Treehouse board game cafe, which is our usual venue over the past 5 years. It's great; no need to battle to get to the bar, a table to sit at, games, and entertainment if you want to join in. This year we ended up sharing a table with NUX Matt and his partner. Exactly the low-key, warm way to bring in the New Year, that I love.

I wonder... I wonder what you carry into a new year without noticing, and what we unintentionally forget to close off.
