#26 Poster Layouts, IAF Graphics and Planning Sessions
Testing out different apps for poster layout work

Weeknotes — Monday 12 January – Sunday 18 January 2026

Summary of the week

A week deep in design work. Poster layouts, IAF conference graphics and planning sessions.

Dot and Dash

This week, I dedicated much of my time to poster layout work. There is a particular focus that comes with design work; you get into it and suddenly hours have gone by so quickly. First I had to figure out which software was up to the job with what the end client needed, plus how this would export to the printers.

IAF conference graphics this week too. Working with AMC to get the things we need to launch the ticketing sales and the promo work. Getting the visual identity right for the conference matters, as it needs branding consistency across the next few months with all the communications we have going on.

Myself and PK have been using our weekends for 1:1 planning sessions or working on tasks for the conference. These focused sessions set up everything we need in the coming weeks. Every weekend, these focused sessions allow us to set up our Miro boards and cover all assigned tasks, and work out what needs to come next. Saturday and Sundays are my IAF working days.

I wonder... I wonder what the visual identity of an event communicates before a single word is said about it.
