#38 .....Lovebrain, a Working Day and a Birthday Meal

Weeknotes — Monday 6 April – Sunday 12 April 2026

Summary of week

Back from Easter, visit to our board game cafe, All things IAF, balancing contracting and the community. And a late big birthday meal at Domo.

Dot and Dash

Loving the short weeks - which remind me of a contract I had working 3/4 days a week for a while. Long weekends where I could study, learn and travel to places. Back to this contract, which I am loving the complete autonomy to discover and explore.

App Development

I've been refining all the research documentation instructions for participants and doing research into the tools I can use. All the amazing tools that I have used in the past are so prohibitively priced at the moment. So I will have to look at old-school ways to see how I can get insights without spending a small fortune on user research tooling.

Skool sessions continue with body doubling. I wish I could do more of them either side of my working day, but at the moment I need to carve out time for the volunteer work.

IAF conference

Meet up with Rena this week, who I have been in contact with over IAF social media. We have been emailing over the past few years and never had a call, so we changed that, and it was ace to find out more about each other and how we ended up in the IAF.

Get Sh*t done meetings .. both myself and PK put in a lot of hours this week and at the weekend, as we both needed to catchup with everything to coordinate, plan and delegate out to people. I spent another few hours batching up content for the session events, and count down posting.

Lovebrain

Love brain University this week. This programme continues to be one of the most significant thing I am doing this year. Working on my cognitive health and brain training. Fascinating how much I learn and put into practice. I'm trying to use tools to help with my memory and recall. Post the training session I continue to learn and build on practice. Logging onto a call with over 200 people who all are training their brains. I never expected the continued support post the training.

Fun stuff - Birthday Meal

A late big birthday meal celebration at Domo. A brilliant Sardinian restaurant with friends. We had a lovely natter, catching up and being together to celebrate half a century. I forgot to take photos; I was so engrossed in having one of the best white vegan white truffle pizzas of my life. SkyBar with friends, not featured as they don't do socials. DOMO twice in one month, that is going in my gratitude journal!

I wonder... if I'm realising that celebrating more in life, from the big milestones such as birthdays to smaller things in life is more fulfilling. It's something to work on as I often pass up milestones.
