#37 Easter and the boardgames

Summary of the week

Easter Eggs, designing workshops, body doubling and board gaming. What a mix to close out March.

IAF conference

IAF meetings peppered throughout the week at either side of my working day. Had a longer meeting in the evening to sort out the evening activities for the dinner event. Again this week, I'm on email inbox duty, which is taking up a lot of hours each day to stay on top. Luckily, some things can be delegated, and we have a email triaging system which is working great. Tagging and colour-coding everything!

Dot and Dash

This week, laying on early morning community sessions has been a real juggle. At least it's helping me focus on getting some of my own business admin and Skool community work going.

I've been invited along to the end celebration for the Pathways off the Plateau programme. It was a great chance to connect and find out how they got on with the whole programme and find out what they were up to and what has been changing for them and their businesses.

I ended up wrapping up a few images for the participants so they could have this as part of their work. I had sketchnotes from the speakers finished, but they are for the cohort only.

I've been working on some workshop ideas and ran a pilot session with a client at the weekend.. These visuals will be a good chance to display up for inspiration at the IAF conference.

Easter Break

Easter break at the Treehouse board game cafe. A short bit of downtime to be somewhere else other than behind a screen. I needed a break from all the activity over the past few months, and it was great to be absorbed in games, and spend time with Lee not talking about work or anything app related but be absorbed in where the best placement for meeples needed to go!

The Treehouse is one of my favourite places in Sheffield to go out. I love taking the time to pick out and try new games, or find the games that interest us that we can't fit on our shelves at home.

I even managed to get some sourdough loaves baked in - it's so hard not to do a full food science critique on the bake but yes is, it has a side split and a potential handlebar. Troubleshooting sourdough bakes is pointless, as by sourdough standards .. they have lives of their own.

I wonder... what types of different rest exist? Right now I know I need, emotional, physical, and social rest. One to explore when I get the chance.
